Standoff Inference
NEXUS-1 AND THE ORACLE
READING COGNITIVE STATE WITHOUT CONTACT
SIX SENSOR MODALITIES — ONE INFERENCE MODEL
Direct measurement of neural electromagnetic fields at a distance is impractical — six orders of magnitude in signal loss at ten meters. Brainwave Systems solved the standoff problem by inverting it: instead of reading the brain directly, read everything the brain causes.[12]
NEXUS-1
A multimodal neural state inference platform integrating six sensor modalities from Maxwell Continuum: thermal IR imaging, hyperspectral near-infrared, high-speed optical, 77 GHz FMCW radar, laser vibrometry, and MEMS acoustic arrays. A transformer-based fusion backbone learns cross-modal attention patterns.
The Oracle
Pre-speech detection via laser vibrometry. Emotional state inference from thermal facial mapping. Autonomic arousal from cardiac rhythm extracted by radar. The operational goal: know what someone is about to say before they say it. Know when they’re lying. Know when they’re afraid.[13]
The privacy architecture applies to the Oracle as it does to every Brainwave product: full audit trails, documented rules of engagement, and governance by the deploying organization. We build the instrument. We do not control who points it where.
